I have contributed an essay to an upcoming book that focuses on Star Wars titled, "Finding the Force of the Star Wars Franchise: Fans, Merchandise, and Critics," which will be published this summer by the Peter Lang Publishing Group. My essay, co-authored with Dr. Rachel Wagner of Oregon State University, is titled, "Hokey Religions and Ancient Weapons: The Force of Spirituality." There are also many other great essays in the book, which I think will appeal to a wide audience of film enthusiasts, Star Wars fans, and academics interested in popular culture studies.
